Research & Clinical Trials
The Cornerstone of the Department of Neurological Surgery is its unique integration of our clinical and research programs. Basic science and clinical research are connected to many aspects of our patient care, allowing us to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the neurosciences.
The UW Neurological Surgery Department is one of the largest recipients of National Institutes of Health (NIH) and private funding in the United States. In a survey by The Blue Ridge Medical Institute, in 2012 and again in 2014, the UW Department of Neurological Surgery was the 6th highest recipient of NIH research funding of 38 departments included. With more than 25 faculty members actively involved in basic science and clinical research, the department provides a fertile environment for scientific investigation.
Virtually all areas of neuroscience are being investigated. The Department uses a broad range of cutting edge technology to accomplish its research goals. You can connect with our Research by following the links on the left.
