Steps to Onboarding a Volunteer

This page provides you easy access to the information you need to navigate the volunteer process.

The Volunteer Policy as outlined by the School of Medicine requires the following be included in the volunteer process:

  1. Fill out and return the Volunteer Service agreement to Department Director.
  2. Once the service agreement is received and volunteer is approved by our Director, arrangements can be made to obtain appropriate building and lab access for your volunteer.
  3. If your volunteer will be accessing computer resources, he/she will need to fill-out and return the “Privacy, Confidentiality, and Information Security Agreement” form to HR. Please note that access to AMC and Orca requires Date of Birth, Place of Birth, Social Security number and UW NetID (if your volunteer has one).
